Eruditio et Religio and the Great Asbury Revival

There are over 40 references in the Bible to the idea that repentance – the capacity to see error and not only turn from it but also make restitution for harm – is prerequisite for forgiveness.  February’s nearly two-week revival at Asbury University in Kentucky concluded just days before the release of Jon Erwin and Brent McCorkle’s film Jesus Revolution.  I’m NOT saying that these events were associated or exploited by Lionsgate but I’m simply asking a question.

On August 19, 2021, Asbury University announced their return-to-campus policy on COVID-19.  In the President’s note to the community, he recited the CDC’s lie that vaccination would somehow make the campus community safer.

“Recent data tells us hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 are primarily concentrated among non-vaccinated individuals. Moreover, while there are “breakthrough cases” (vaccinated individuals who contract COVID-19), hospitalization rates are strikingly low (.0004 as of July 26) and sickness is generally experienced as less severe. Therefore, the proportion of vaccinated individuals in our community will matter.

Students were encouraged to upload their vaccination cards or participate in a campus-sponsored vaccine clinic at the commencement of the school year.  Mask wearing was, according to him, “Godly Wisdom” and led to his unfortunate mask mandates.

It was February 3, 1970, when another major “revival” broke loose on Asbury’s campus.  I’m sure someone out there has an Aquarian metaphor for this symmetry!  Coming on the heels of the charismatic movement, the “Jesus Movement” was a major influence for the events portrayed in the Jesus Revolution film.

A close examination of the financial statements of Asbury University reveals that, during COVID, the University was paid $4,448,000 by the Federal Government for its participation in the COVID PPP socialist incentive program.  And while this sum pales in comparison to the Catholic Diocese of Covington’s $10 million, it still presents a problem.  Here’s a university who adopted Duke University’s motto, “Eruditio et Religio”, who hid behind “Godly wisdom” to promote masking and injections and who, for two weeks, hosted a “revival” celebrated around the world and…

…at NO POINT did the University use that national and international spotlight to REPENT of its COVID complicity.

I started out by stating that I’m not saying the revival and the film’s release had anything to do with each other.  But I am simply asking the same question I asked regarding Event 201 and Dustin Moskovitz’s funding of the Johns Hopkins, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and World Economic Forum event in October 2019 which foreshadowed the “pandemic”.  If the fruit of a thing doesn’t match the thing, is it possible that the tree is not what you think it is?

I will freely admit that I’m a casualty of the 1970s “revival”.  Lonnie Frisbee and Chuck Smith along with their Southern California adherents had profound effects on my life (or lack thereof).  But I want to point out that if we’re not willing to apply the same discernment on the institution we call the church that we apply to the World Economic Forum, is there a chance that we may be Blinded By the light… that isn’t Light?

  1. I think I get your meaning and agree. However, why not be clear and kind with a statement, instead of a circuitous question?

    1. In order for one to wake up from the many comas of systems we thought were trustworthy -- the necessary remedy is to inject questions and provide factual information. This gives a safe place to land after realizing everything "we the people" believed were intermittently given a little bit of truth and a lot of deceit -- and those in power were not held accountable -- they slipped away and regrouped and dressed in sheep's clothing nefariously waiting to attack the unsuspecting, naive masses. "We the people" gave over our trust to those speaking the words of Jesus Christ while they lined their pockets and covered up the raping of our precious children.
Questions create consciousness and it is in those moments each individual takes responsibility for being duped.
Love and justice go hand in hand. Both are required to stand in truth. Accountability is paramount to the Great Awakening. Each of us is responsible for our own awareness of being deceived and searching for Truth.

    1. why would one be kind to mass murderders ? like when Yeshua whipped out the banksters from the temple ; you mean that kind of kind ? all major churches have been demonically permeated by WEF, CCP, jesuits and worse : even my own with its powerfully misleading-therefore-complicit-to-democide CSM. Now they take to murdering also our innocent children ! Yeshua told us when we would know it was the end did he not ? : when the holy of hollies was desecrated as spake the prophet Daniel.
Well now : every single largely-organized church has been pervered and their holy of hollies thereby desecrated. Open your blinded eyes ; wake your sleeping warrior of Truth ; cast the demons out with the Word, as David's smooth, small stone sank deeply betwixt the eyes of the defiling giant, so our modern-day David tells it like it is ; whose-ever eyes do not awake to spiritual activity for good and only good, may well perish with the Giants : with Goliath's own sword the preteen shephard withdrew it mightily from the giant's sheath and swiftly adminitered Godly execution that severed the wicked brain from the wicked body of defiling-ungodliness ; "choose ye this day whom you will serve !"

  3. Not a chance, a certainty, that we will be blinded by the false light, if we do not exercise discernment. You correctly called it an institution. Unfortunately we have found that many a "high spiritual treason" have been committed by institutions that proclaim to lead the godly way.

  4. "But I want to point out that if we’re not willing to apply the same discernment on the institution we call the church that we apply to the World Economic Forum, is there a chance that we may be Blinded By the light… that isn’t Light?" Your problem is the institution you call the church is not the church.

  5. Thank you for shining a light on hypocrisy and questioning motives.
We are living in a time where the definition of a words and what they mean continually change, I used to believe coincidences had no causal connection.
Now, if I see or hear about a coincidence, I call it a clue.

  10. The church has long condemned critical thinking and the questioning any dogma it preaches as backsliding and / or having no faith. Being a doubting Thomas. This forces those who want to be seen as 'good Christians', to comply with any new directive.

  11. I'm just still shocked that so many have jumped in line for these genetic injections. I heard God speak to me, shortly after the push started. He said very clearly 'Do not willingly alter the DNA I gave you'.

    1. I wholeheartedly agree. I heard the same still small, but clear, voice speak to me as well. What’s shocking to me is how Christians get attacked by fellow believers when they so much as question what took place at Asbury and/or the Jesus Revolution film. No matter how lovingly you say it, it’s looked upon as being hateful or mean spirited. I just don’t get it. No longer can friendly dialogue take place without people attacking. It must be another sign of the end times that we’re living in.

  13. Is forgiveness a gift? Are terms more associated with reconciliation? Can God be impacted and hearts be healed by the acknowledgment of those ignorant of the leaders ungodly motives? Myself I only want to know the standard by which one proclaims ritcheous words and actions. Can the standard be tested and what is the accountability for missing the mark. Will a righteous judge apply the same standard to himself and other? I agree with your premise all those of significant influence should be held to the same standard.

  14. So sad how government and church have sold their souls... This week we tried to get our local County (Santa Clara) to stop funding the bioweapon injections at the Board of Supervisors meeting. They basically have ignored all the evidence and data that these injections are bioweapons... and one member of our group noted that the County has spent 1.28 Billion on their Covid measures, undoubtedly, a good chunk of that came from the Federal/State government, who have been pushing the lie, but also from the high tach industry, and those who sought to destroy Main Street, re-engineer the economy and push us into the technocratic nightmare.

  15. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing. The corruption will end when people stop complying to the tyranny. People need to do their own research and if something isn’t right, question it, question everything. Governments, healthcare and churches work for the people and they should be held accountable and charged accordingly, for their deceit, lies and corruption.

  16. Did any universities NOT participate in the extra govt. funds?

Did any universities not at minimum harass employees and students who questioned mandates - let alone refuse to participate in the lies?

If America is to have revival - University Presidents, any Christian School boards - .. an apology would be greatly appreciated.

    I forgive those who apologize.
    No one has.

If they harmed others financially - or physically, restitution should be freely offered...

As for emotional and psychological damage they caused? We all - are already paying for that.

Thank you for your comment. I look forward to considering this in the expanding dialogue. Dave
